Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Notice that your "past" didn't make the list of things that can't separate you from the love of God.... Let me ask a couple questions. How many of us still struggle with our past? Does the enemy try to remind you of your past every once and a while? The enemy uses these tactics because our past CAN separate us from Gods love by blinding us to who GOD HAS MADE US TO BE and keeping us distracted by who we ARE NO LONGER. But, your past is what Jesus brought you out of! Your past is what Jesus forgave you of! Your past doesn't exist in Gods eyes!!! YOU HAVE BEEN FREED FROM YOUR PAST! YAY! God doesn't look back! The enemy doesn't want you to know this! Because it can keep you from Gods love. The enemy will try to use your past against you! And when we listen to the enemy, we are listening to lies! Don't listen to him. Here is what Paul says in Philippians 3
"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus."
Forgetting what is behind! Straining towards what is ahead! WHY? The prize for which God has called us to... God doesn't need us looking back guys. His Love is what fuels us! His love is what guides us! His love is what set us free from our past! There is only one thing about your past you should NEVER forget..... The day Jesus saved you from it.
